

Uses standard DDR2 sticks, but only has one slot, so you will need either a 2 gig stick, or a 4 gig stick to upgrade, as it already has a single 1 gig in it. Something else to do might be add more RAM, as they only shipped with 1 gig. Performance is pretty good with both of those, and no major issues. iso files into bootable usb, boot the machine from the thumb drive, and go. I have found 2 particular distros that will work with those, no fuss, for certain:Ĭrunchbang (use the 32 bit "waldorf" version, non-pae on something like that, no need for 64 bit on something like this machine) And I know for a fact it will boot on such a machine, as I have an install of it running right now on one.Īnother one that works is SolydXK as I also have an install of it up and running too (use the "x" version, also 32bits).


Is that a netbook? Like one of the NV50 models? I have one, and they take Linux nicely.
